Condiments you should have with hamburgers, chicken, or hotdogs.

If you are cooking this summer then there are some condiments that you must have to make a great hamburger, chicken sandwich or hot dog. If you are barbequing outside then you must have BBQ sauce to put on the hamburger or chicken. You should do this before you put the meat on the grill. However, if you are in a hurry or short on time, then you can do it as you BBQ. If you are cooking for kids don’t use BBQ sauce. You should also add cheese when the hamburger is almost done.

Here is a list of condiments that are required for your hamburgers, chicken or hot dogs:

The first is ketchup. Ketchup is great to have on hamburger. Your basic hamburger needs to have ketchup. This is your basic hamburger. If you want to spice it up more you can keep going with other condiments. It is also great with hot dogs. It has been my experience in cooking for my niece and nephew that most kids just like ketchup on their hot dogs and hamburgers so you are wasting your time getting fancy with condiments. It may be a good idea to ask the kids what they want before you put anything on hot dog or hamburger. They may not want the condiment and you may then end up eating all the discards and there goes your diet. From my experiences, if you put a bunch of condiments on hamburger for the kids you or dog will end up eating the food.

The second is cheese. You have to have the option to make a cheeseburger. Your basis cheese burger should be made with American cheese. However, you can use any cheese you desire. If you used BBQ sauce on your hamburger, then you might want to use Monterey cheese or mozzarella cheese as it adds to the BBQ flavor. Monterey cheese also will work better with chicken.

The third is mayonnaise. You need to have mayonnaise along with ketchup to make a great cheeseburger or a chicken sandwich. A chicken sandwich needs to have mustard, mayonnaise, and lettuce. It is must. It also needs some white cheese like spicy jack cheese or Monterey Jack cheese.

The fourth is mustard. If you are also making hot dogs, then mustard is necessary condiment. If you like spicy, then you can get add spicy mustard.

The fifth is sweat and sour pickles. You need pickles. The sweat and sour pickles are the best. I like these better than regular pickles. The sweat and sour pickles are great on any sandwich.

The sixth is lettuce. Use lettuce if you are trying to put something healthy on your hamburger. If you put lettuce on the hamburger then you need to have something to add some flavor with it like mustard or mayonnaise. If you are trying to be healthy you might as well put pickles and tomatoes on your sandwich. If you do this option, then you can skip the salad. As you are skipping the salad, you could also add ranch dressing to lettuce to give it a western ranch salad style flavor. You should not use too much mayonnaise because the lettuce is your healthy option.

The sixth is jalapenos. You can spice up your hamburger or chicken sandwich by using jalapenos.

The seventh is a pineapple slice. Who would not enjoy pineapple slice on chicken sandwich with Monterey cheese mustard and mayonnaise. I am getting hungry just writing about it.

The eighth is tomatoes. It has been mentioned previously. I am not a big fan of tomatoes as a condiment. I only like tomatoes in spaghetti sauce.

The ninth is bacon. If you really want to make good and are not concerned about calories or health, then bacon is for you. You can add fried bacon or Canadian bacon with American cheese to the top of a hamburger to make a bacon cheese burger. You usually make it a double cheese burger because you are not really concerned about a making a healthy decision if you adding bacon to a cheese burger.

The tenth is onions. I don’t really like raw onions on my hamburger. If you fry up some onion rings before they are great to go on a bacon double cheese burger. This condiment should probably only be used if are unconcerned about keeping calories down or eating healthy.

These are merely suggestions, you can use any condiment you desire. It depends upon what foods you like and your tastes. It also depends on your health. If you are concerned about your health you should stick to lettuce and chicken and away from the fried onion rings and bacon.
