The National Debt Clock at usdebtclock.org shows the national debt is over $13 trillion or $13,000,000,000, 0000. It is hard to comprehend these numbers. According to the National Debt Clock this is $42,000 for each citizen and over $118,000 per each taxpayer.
The clock also shows the largest budget items and US tax revenue. The US tax revenue is only around $2 trillion. It shows the liabilities of social security of $14 trillion, Medicare liability of $75 trillion, and unfunded liabilities of $108 trillion at the bottom. If the US were a company, then it would be broke. I can’t believe there is no estate tax this year with these numbers. At least the US is not at the top of the list for GDP to Debt ratio. Japan is at the top ahead of Greece.
You can also check out the gold holding of countries by ounces by clicking on the tab at the bottom. The US is at the top at around 287,000,000 ounces.
