The web site provides the claims number to BP and the Coast Guard number if you are not getting the information necessary from BP. The website indicates that BP is now accepting claims for the Gulf Coast oil spill. You can call them at 1-800-440-0858. If you are not satisfied with BP’s resolution, then you can call the National Pollution Funds Center at 1-800-280-7118.

It provides an overview of who can file a claim, the type of claim, and what type of damages are covered. The website also provides a guide and forms to file a claim. It appears that it covers damage to property, economic loss, and remediation costs. It does not appear to cover emotional distress from watching the news feed of the oil spill under water.
